PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATES NOT FANS OF PAYING BILLS FOR SECURITY
- It appears as though debt collection is not at the forefront of the president’s agenda. nor is paying his bills, either. Neither President Trump nor former presidential candidate Hillary Clinton have paid outstanding bills for campaign stops that were made on Pennsylvania last year during their campaigns for the highest office in the land. The Clinton campaign, for example, has not responded to three collection letters from the Philadelphia Police Department for a rally she held last year. Former candidate Bernie Sanders owes more than $400,000 in unpaid security bills for his campaign stops, as well.
BANKRUPTCY TRUSTEE FILES OBJECTION TO SQUARETWO REORGANIZATION PLAN
- The Trustee assigned to monitor the bankruptcy filing of SquareTwo Financial has filed an objection to the company’s proposed reorganization plan. “… if the Plan is confirmed, general unsecured creditors will unknowingly release officers and directors for such things as violations of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and other similar state and local statutes and regulations, which is inconsistent with the concepts of notice and fairness,” the trustee wrote in its objection.
CONSULTANT LISTS SIX ‘CORE’ CAPABILITIES FOR MANAGING RELATIONSHIPS WITH THIRD-PARTY COLLECTORS
- A consultant has written an overview for creditors, banks and other consumer finance companies about the six “core” capabilities that are needed when managing relationships with third-party collection agencies.
