BILLINGTREE RECEIVES PRIVATE EQUITY INVESTMENT
- Payment processing company BillingTree announced this morning that it has received a “major recapitalization” of the company following an investment by Parthenon Capital Partners, a private equity firm. The size of the investment was not announced. BillingTree’s CEO said the company will use its partnership with Parthenon to, “strengthen our existing customer relationships, expand our existing proprietary product offerings and grow our service footprint into adjacent industry verticals.”
OHIO GROUPS JOIN TOGETHER TO PUSH CFPB FOR STRONGER PAYDAY, TITLE LENDING REGULATIONS
- Nearly 100 different groups in Ohio have joined together and written a letter to Richard Cordray, the director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, supporting the agency’s attempt to regulate payday and title lending. The groups want the CFPB to go even further that what it has included in its draft proposal, requesting further consumer protections from “payday lenders’ demonstrated propensity to exploit unintentional loopholes to undermine the spirit and the letter of the law.”
