Position Overview
Seeking a highly motivated and experienced mid-level Infrastructure Security Engineer to join our dynamic team. The Security Engineer will play a crucial role in protecting our company’s cloud and physical assets from internal and external threats. The position involves a blend of security-focused engineering tasks and providing daily technical support to ensure uninterrupted business operations. You’ll be part of a dedicated team, working to secure our infrastructure, implement best practices, and respond to security incidents and technical issues as they arise.
Overview of Responsibilities
Monitor and secure the network, systems, and applications to protect against unauthorized access, modification, or destruction.
Implement and manage security tools and technologies such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, encryption, and anti-malware software.
Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Help develop and maintain security policies, procedures, and documentation.
Collaborate with Technology teams and Engineering teams to integrate security measures into infrastructure and applications.
Provide daily technical support to local and remote office employees, addressing and resolving a wide range of hardware, software, and network issues.
Participate in the design and implementation of disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
Support incident, change and problem management processes with proven technical troubleshooting abilities.
Stay up to date with the latest security trends, threats, and technologies.
Regular attendance and timeliness is required.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Experience
Strong understanding of network protocols, operating systems, and secure network architecture.
Proficiency in installing, updating, and monitoring security technologies and tools.
Experience with Firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, and endpoint security tools.
Familiar with troubleshooting DNS, DHCP and other connectivity protocols.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
Ability to communicate complex issues to technical and non-technical staff equally.
Experience and Education
Bachelors or Associates in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field is preferred but not required.
6+ years of information technology experience and at least 2 years of IT security experience.
Strong understanding of network protocols, operating systems, and secure network architecture
Experience with cloud services (AWS, and Azure) and securing cloud-based environments
Security or cloud computing experience required. Relevant security or cloud certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, GSEC, CCSP, CompTIA Security+) are a plus.
Physical Requirements
Lifts, carries or moves 15/25/50 pounds occasionally.
Positions oneself to install equipment, including under desks.
Ability to run, trace and repair cables as needed.
Occasionally, an adjusted work schedule, evening/weekend hours may be required.
