How did you get your start in the industry?
This is a family-run business. I started working here the Monday after I received my driver’s license. Family businesses work that way.
What is your career highlight so far?
I served for nine years on on the Board of Directors for PinnacleHealth, and then became Chairman of the Board.
When or how are you most productive?
I am most productive on the weekends when no one is in the office. During normal business hours, I like to spend my time working with all of the agency’s employees.
Which industry professional do you admire most?
My father, Art Kusic, who is now retired. He liked to say, “If you want to collect more money, make more phone calls.”
What is one thing you do better than everyone else?
We are small balance collection specialists. We understand how to extract value out of small balance accounts where others cannot afford to do so.
What do you like most about this industry?
It’s definitely not the status quo every day.
What is one thing you wish you could change about this industry?
Legal Reform.
Describe a typical work day.
Now that I am not traveling due to COVID, I spend my days in the office transforming the company to take advantage of the new CFPB rules.
If you weren’t in this industry, what would you be doing?
Tax Accountant. I have a MBA in Taxation from Drexel University.
What is your guilty pleasure?
Fishing.
