A bomb threat was called in yesterday to a collection agency in Wisconsin, forcing the office to be evacuated.
The threat was made to an IC System office in Onalaska, Wisc. The office employs about 150 people, according to a published report.
Along with evacuating the office of the collection agency, all of the businesses in the shopping area were also cleared, as a safety precaution.
Details about who made the threat and the reason behind it were not disclosed and authorities are still investigating, according to the report.
Unfortunately, this is not the first time that a collection agency has been forced to be evacuated because of a bomb scare. Last year, an office of Portfolio Recovery Associates in Tennessee was evacuated after a bomb threat was called in. And months before that, an explosive device — which turned out to be fake — was found outside a collection agency in Oregon.
