A Tennessee office of Portfolio Recovery Associates was evacuated last night after a bomb threat was made in a call to local law enforcement.
Once the building was evacuated, police went in and searched the premises, but did not find any bomb.
The phone call that made the threat was traced and was found to have come from an out-of-state phone number.
A collection agency in Eugene, Ore. was evacuated back in October after a suspicious looking device was found near the building. The device turned out to be a fake — two road flares taped to a digital recorder. The agency had terminated a number of employees recently and that was thought to be the origin of the hoax.
