Judge Grants MSJ For Defendant in FDCPA Case Over ID Theft Claim
- A District Court judge in New York has given the final heave-ho to a Fair Debt Collection Practices Act case by granting the defendant’s motion for summary judgment over the language used in a communication sent by the defendant to the plaintiff after the plaintiff claimed to be the victim of identity theft.

Bill Introduced in House to Remove Certain Medical Debts from Native Americans’ Credit Reports
- A bipartisan bill has been introduced in the House of Representatives to amend the Fair Credit Reporting Act by restricting certain types of medical debt from appearing on the credit reports of Native Americans as a means of protecting them from wrongfully charged medical bills that are actually owed by the Indian Health Service.
