Collector Accused of Violating FDCPA, TCPA By Placing Second Wrong Number Call
- File this complaint under “it doesn’t take much to get sued” and “if this happens again, I’m going to be harmed so more.” A plaintiff has filed suit in Florida federal court, accusing a collector of violating the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act because it made two calls to the plaintiff seeking to speak with someone else.

Judge Dismisses FDCPA Class Action for Lack of Standing
- A District Court judge in New York has dismissed a Fair Debt Collection Practices Act class action case on the grounds the plaintiff lacked standing to sue and thus does not have subject matter jurisdiction, after accusing a collector of sending a Model Validation Notice that had two different balances in it.
