We all know that giving is better than receiving, but we all have that one gift that has stuck with us or meant the most through the years. Whether it was a Red Ryder BB Gun or a Nintendo Entertainment System, or in my case, a Commodore 64 Computer, we all have a favorite gift. Since it’s that time of the year, AccountsRecovery.net asked people from across the ARM industry for the best Christmas gift they have ever given or received. Here is what they said.

Undoubtedly the best Christmas gift I have ever received is from my grandmother over 25 years ago. She was an avid quilter for much of her life and the family was fortunate to have some of her quilting art. One Christmas when I was almost 40, she gave me a quilt she made for me in the months leading up to my birth on September 13, 1961. It had my name and year in the corner of the quilt and sat wrapped in a drawer until she felt the time was right to give it to me.
Certainly one of the most treasured Christmas gifts of my life!

One year, just before Christmas Eve, the guy I was dating found out I’d never been snowboarding before, and decided to fix that immediately. He bought a used snowboard for me, and took me shopping for junior high football pads, plus pads for knees, ribs, elbows, etc., and a huge pair of bibs that could fit over all that padding. Early the next morning, we went to the mountains, and I got suited up — I was absolutely enormous! Also, the plan worked. I fell many times that day, but was SUPER safe. To this day, I still chuckle when I think of it.

The best gift I’ve ever been given was a magnolia tree from my team at a former company. It came at the perfect time in my life and it’s been a gift every day for the last six years as I’ve watched it grow into a tall, strong and beautiful tree. It’s also a reminder that the people we work with through the years can leave a lasting positive impact on our lives in so many ways.

This year my wife made me a children’s book in which our son Elliot and I are the main characters. I’m a big comic strip fan and more importantly it’s my first year as a dad. So while Elliot doesn’t really understand story narratives yet, it means so much to be able to read to him. And I hope he learns to view himself as the hero in his own story.

Every year I receive the best Christmas gift … our entire family getting together for food, fun, and fellowship. We are spread out a bit and with so many different schedules that I am grateful we all can get together, in one location, and enjoy each other.
