Judge Denies Motion to Remand FCRA, FDCPA Case Back to State Court
- A District Court judge in Michigan has denied a plaintiff’s motion to remand a Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and Fair Credit Reporting Act case back to small claims court where it was originally filed and notified the plaintiff that he must file a more “definitive” statement of claims to provide the defendant with more information for its response.

Think Tank Launches Site to Collect Stories From Consumers Impacted by CFPB Data Breach
- An organization called the Southwest Public Policy Institute has launched a campaign to hold the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau accountable for a data breach that occurred at the Bureau earlier this year and exposed the personal information of 250,000 consumers. The SPPI has launched what it is calling the Bureau to Protect Financial Consumers from the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau or the BPFCCFPB.
