GOVERNMENT EXTENDS PAUSE ON STUDENT LOAN PAYMENTS UNTIL LEGAL CHALLENGES ARE RESOLVED
- The Biden Administration yesterday announced it was extending the moratorium on student loan payments until 60 days after litigation surrounding the plan to forgive up to $20,000 in unpaid student loans is resolved. If the litigation has not been resolved by June 30 of next year, payments will resume 60 days after that, the government announced.

JUDGE SETS ASIDE DEFAULT JUDGMENT AGAINST DEFENDANT IN FDCPA CASE
- A District Court judge in North Carolina has granted a defendant’s motion for relief from judgment on the grounds that a default judgment obtained by the plaintiff in a Fair Debt Collection Practices Act case is void due to lack of service of process.

- The Federal Communications Commission yesterday announced it had excommunicated a telecom company for failing to take the necessary steps to block consumers from receiving robocalls, ordering other companies to stop accepting traffic from Global UC.
