- A new type of form comment on the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau’s proposed debt collection rule popped up yesterday from representatives in the credit and collection industry, and this one is taking a much more aggressive approach. It also appears as though all of the comments were from employees of the same company.

- A District Court judge has used a collection industry defendant’s favorite word in granting a motion to dismiss: frivolous, after the defendant was accused of violating the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act by misrepresenting the amount of attorney involvement in a collection letter.

- After being called out for filing lawsuits against individuals who did not pay their healthcare debts, Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare in Memphis, Tenn., has announced it will no longer pursue legal options against individuals who make less than 250% of the federal poverty guidelines.
