Wells Fargo has announced that it is moving 100 jobs in its student loan collections and auto loan collection departments from an office in Aberdeen, S.D., to consolidated offices in different locations.
Those in auto loan collections are being relocated to Chandler, Ariz, Irving, Texas, or Raleigh, N.C. Student loan collectors are being relocated to Roanoke, Va., Portland, Ore., Sioux Falls, S.D., and Des Moines, Iowa.
Employees who are interested in relocating are being provided assistance; those who are not interested will receive a severance package, the company announced.
Wells had previously announced plans to consolidate 57 regional collection centers into larger offices. Last October, for example, the company closed a call center in Pennsylvania, eliminating about 460 jobs.
The Aberdeen center is expected to be closed by the end of the year.
