FORMER CFPB DIRECTOR CORDRAY TAKES AIM AT MULVANEY
- Richard Cordray, the former director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, is not taking too kindly to the changes being made by his successor, acting director Mick Mulvaney. Cordray, who is now running for governor of Ohio, took to Twitter yesterday, calling Mulvaney “putative” and a “squatter,” adding in the line, “the fish rots from the head down.”
ACA SUBMITS COMMENT ABOUT FCC’S PROPOSED CALL BLOCKING PROPOSED RULE
- ACA International has filed comments with the Federal Communications Commission over its proposed rule that would enhance call blocking options for consumers from alleged robocalls. ACA’s issues with the proposed rule are to make sure that companies are being notified if an outgoing call they placed has been blocked and a process to “quickly” rectify errors that are made by the technology.
WEBSITE UNVIELD TO HELP CONSUMERS FILE RESPONSES TO COLLECTION LAWSUITS
- A lawyer and a group of law students from Brigham Young University have unveiled a website to help individuals who are being sued by debt collectors for unpaid debts. The site, called SoloSuit, is an automated tool to help individuals respond to websites to avoid having a default judgment entered against them.

SURVEY ASKS CONSUMERS TO PLAY ‘WOULD YOU RATHER’ WITH CREDIT CARD BALANCES
- Taking a more lighthearted approach to the serious problem of growing credit card debt, LendEDU polled 1,000 individuals and had them play a game of “would you rather” where one of the primary options was disclosing the amount of credit card debt across all of the individual’s social media accounts.
