Alltran Education, a collection agency that specializes in collecting student loans, has filed a notice under the Illinois Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act (WARN) that it is cutting 129 jobs at its Woodridge, Illinois office.
The Woodridge location is one of six Alltran offices nationwide. Alltran specializes in collecting a number of different types of debt, including healthcare, government, financial services, and student loans. The company does not disclose how many employees work at its Woodridge office.
Employees are being laid off as of January 31, 2018. The company did indicate that “closing” is the type of event, which could possibly mean that the entire office is being shut down, but that was not made clear. The company has more than 2,200 employees nationwide.
Alltran rebranded its student loan collection business in 2016. It was former known as Enterprise Recovery Systems.
