REVENUE CYCLE MANAGEMENT DEAL ACTIVITY MAKES HUGE LEAP IN 2016
- Deal activity, meaning mergers and acquisitions, in the Revenue Cycle Management space increased 47% in 2016 over 2015, according to an investment bank that specializes in that area of the business. Private equity buyers and strategies involving private equity firms accounted for more than two-thirds of the deals. The upside? Deal activity in 2017 is expected to be even higher. The conclusion? Revenue Cycle Management is hot.
COURT RULES INSURER DID NOT VIOLATE TCPA FOR SENDING REMINDER CALLS
- Another court has stepped up and individuals who try to sue simply for getting a reminder phone call via an automated dialer are wasting their time. In this case, it was individuals trying to sue a healthcare insurance company that made automated calls reminding individuals to open the information packets that had been sent to them so they could see the changes to their health insurance for the coming year. An individual sued the insurer, claiming the company was telemarketing, but a court in the Central District of California ruled that if HIPAA did not consider the call to be “marketing,” then the Telephone Consumer Protection Act could not have been violated either.
LENDING AT CREDIT UNIONS WILL CONTINUE TO GROW IN 2017
- Lending at credit unions will continue to grow in 2017, even if car sale numbers level off, according to the trade group representing credit unions. An expanding economy will keep delinquency rates from rising in 2017, economists at the group projected. Technological advancements will continue to keep consumer demand for new cars elevated, according to the report.
