A law firm has published a press release announcing the filing of a class-action lawsuit against a collection agency for allegedly violating the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
This is the second time in less than a month that a law firm has taken to issuing a press release to announce the filing of a class-action lawsuit against a collection agency for alleged FDCPA violations.
In this instance, the defendant is being sued for allegedly violating the FDCPA by contacting individuals directly after having been informed that the individuals were being represented by attorneys. The suit was filed in District Court for the Central District of California.

The complaint is seeking to include any individual who was contacted by the defendant but who was represented by an attorney as a member of the class.
