The Law Offices of Daniel C. Consuegra attended and was a sponsor at the Chaplaincy Care’s Heart of the Hero Banquet on September 12, 2019. This is an annual banquet to raise awareness on how chaplains are life savers for the military and first responders who are or have been on the front line and how Chaplaincy Care supports these vital men and women who serve and protect us.
The banquet was held at the TECO Expo Hall in Plant City, FL with 264 in attendance, consisting of current or former military, law enforcement, fire and rescue, medical personnel and other first responders along with friends and supporters of Chaplaincy Care. At the banquet, first responders, chaplains and the founder and CEO Daniel Middlebrooks spoke. There was food, refreshment and live music that inspired all of us.
For those not familiar with the vital role chaplains play it was very much a learning experience. Chaplaincy Care seeks to relieve the mental and spiritual stress military and first responders endure and respond to the heavy price these officers and their families pay in the line of duty. There is a dire need for chaplains to come to the rescue of these brave men and women who give there all to save us from harm by putting themselves at great risk even to the point of paying the ultimate price. A chaplain who responds in a time of crisis can help an officer and his or her family where others are simply not equipped to do so. I for one learned a great deal from the presentations that evening.
Chaplaincy Care, Inc is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and I would invite you to visit their website, www.chaplaincycare.org. Chaplaincy Care organizes meeting and events to encourage and support the military and first responders. Its chaplains attend events and gathering so that those who wear the badge and their families have someone they have met to reach out to at a time of crises. Chaplaincy Care holds and support marriage retreats, undertakes counseling. Its chaplains’ mentor and provide spiritual and religious guidance and comfort. They assist at or attend funeral services. They recruit and train chaplains to answer the call.
Chaplain Middlebrooks had this to say about the banquet:
“This is a special and strategic event to help us move forward impacting the lives of our military and first responders. I believe when we get to the heart of the problem, it is usually the heart that is the problem. If we can help protect the hearts of our great men and women that see and endure daily trauma, they will be better able to protect us from the potential tragedies of tomorrow. Thank you again for investing in them today for our future tomorrow.”
Chaplain Middlebrooks when discussing his mission often relies on “Protecting the Heart of the Warrior,” Psalms 28:7.
I hope you will join me in celebrating the Heart of the Hero and the commitment and service of our brave military and first responders and acknowledge their contribution and commitment to our very lives and well-being and join me in my support of Chaplaincy Care and the work they do to support and preserve those that give so much and pay so dearly.
