  • Changes that have been announced and started to be put into place regarding how information about medical debts are furnished to the credit reporting agencies will remove those debts from the credit reports of about half of all consumers, according to an analysis of the data published yesterday by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.

MINNESOTA AG EXTENDS DEBT COLLECTION AGREEMENT WITH STATE HOSPITALS

  • The Attorney General of Minnesota has extended a regulatory agreement put in place with nonprofit hospitals operating in the state, as well as a for-profit hospital for the first time, that protects patients from “abusive, harassing, and deceptive practices when hospitals seek to collect medical debt.”
