JUDGE GRANTS MSJ FOR DEFENDANT IN FDCPA CASE OVER ALLEGED DISPUTED DEBT
- A District Court judge in Oregon has granted a defendant’s motion for summary judgment after it was sued for violating the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act because the plaintiff claimed never to have received a demand letter to recover an unpaid credit card debt and because the defendant is allowed to rely on information supplied to it by the creditor.
TOO MANY CONSUMERS STILL UNSATISFIED WITH HEALTHCARE BILLING: REPORT
- Healthcare patients are still “clamoring” for more advances to improve billing and payment solutions, according to the results of an annual survey conducted by Cedar, a healthcare financial engagement platform. Forty percent of respondents said they are not satisfied with their provider’s billing solutions, and another 40% said they are dissatisfied with their interactions with their payer.
