TrueAccord is looking to open a second headquarters in Lenexa, Kansas, according to a published report, as it looks for more space to meet its current growth rate.
The company made an announcement in early 2019 that it was opening an office in Lenexa, saying it planned to staff the headquarters with 150 employees within three years. In the 15 months since TrueAccord opened the office, there are now 118 people working in Lenexa, spread across the operations, client success, information technology, engineering, human resources, finance, and legal and compliance departments.
TrueAccord has hired about half of the staff working in the Lenexa office in the months since the COVID-19 pandemic struck the United States, according to the report.
The report did not indicate how many additional employees would be hired for the new office, not did it provide a specific timeline for the opening of the new office, other than to say it would likely happen in 2021. TrueAccord’s first office in Lenexa was 12,000 square feet.
“We chose the greater Kansas City area after a thorough nationwide search. We reviewed factors such as ease of travel, cost of doing business and the local culture. Ultimately, our decision came down to the ability to attract top talent to meet our growing business needs,” said TrueAccord’s Sheila Monroe when it announced it was opening an office in Lenexa. “The expansion and our new team members will help to further the TrueAccord mission to modernize and improve the debt recovery marketplace.”
The ability to attract top talent and meet the company’s growing needs appear to be why the company is opening another office in the area, Monroe said.
“The work ethic and the desire to do well by consumers is amazing,” Monroe said in the report. “The people are fun; they’re committed; they want to do a great job, and it really solidifies our decision to go with Kansas City.”
