- A District Court judge in Illinois has granted a defendant’s motion to dismiss after it was sued for allegedly violating the Fair Credit Reporting Act by not investigating and removing inaccurate information from the plaintiff’s credit report.
VA OFFERS DEBT SUSPENSION TO VETS IMPACTED BY NATURAL DISASTERS
- The Department of Veterans Affairs has announced that individuals who have been affected by natural disasters, such as the wildfires in California and Oregon or hurricanes in the Southeast, can receive a 90-day suspension of debt collection efforts, in order to give those individuals time to get back on their feet.

- Only one out of four revenue cycle management companies are not planning on making any permanent changes to their operations as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, according to the results of a survey that were released this month. One-third of those companies are, for example, planning to allow more individuals to work from home permanently.

But, there are times when it can be clear that consent has not been revoked. Such is the case in Georgia, where a District Court judge granted a defendant’s motion for summary judgment after it was sued for violating the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act because the plaintiff claimed to have made “repeated” requests that the collector stop calling him.
