Optio Hopes Perks Will Attract Candidates to Job Fair

Optio Solutions is hoping that free headshots, food, and drink will attract quality candidates to a job fair it is hosting later this month.

Acknowledging that a low unemployment rate is making it harder to find quality job candidates, the collection agency is putting its best foot forward as it opens its doors to job seekers.

From a company release announcing the job fair, the unemployment rate in Sonoma County, Calif., where Optio is based, is at 3%, which is down from 3.4% a year ago. Statewide, the unemployment rate is 4.5% in California and is 4.2% for the country. Such a low unemployment rate means individuals can be a lot pickier about when and where they look for jobs.

“The favorable unemployment numbers in Sonoma County translate to increased competition for companies needing to fill entry-level positions,” said Chris Schumacher, president & CEO of Optio Solutions, in a statement. “Our company stands out for its longevity, diverse services and internal advancement.”

Along with offering candidates free professional headshots, refreshments, and drawings to win prizes, the company will be conducted on-site job interviews, it said.

“We hope to attract quality full- and or part-time employees to consumer relations positions in our Petaluma phone center,” said Karen Boyce, vice president of human resources of Optio Solutions, LLC. and parent company CrossCheck, Inc.
