- In a case that was first reported by Buckley Sandler, a federal judge in Pennsylvania has ruled that a debt buyer that purchased a portfolio which included accounts where the statute of limitations had expired does qualify as a “debt collector” under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and denied a motion from the defendant to dismiss the case.
DELINQUENCY RATES ON AUTO LOANS IMPROVE AS MORE LENDERS TIGHTEN LENDING GUIDELINES
- The 30-day and 60-day delinquency rate on auto loans is beginning to improve, a result of auto lenders tightening the underwriting criteria they use to approve loan applications in recent years, according to data released this week by Experian. The data was part of Experian’s quarterly auto finance report.
