Is it possible there is a connection between residents of Buffalo having the shortest life expectancy of any city in New York state and the fact that it is home to more collection agencies than anywhere else in the country?
It’s likely that it’s nothing more than a coincidence, but it is interesting that residents of Buffalo live 18 months less than other residents of New York state. The life expectancy of a Buffalonian is 78.5 years, compared with 80.4 years for anyone else living in the Empire State. The 80.4 years represents the sixth-highest ranking among all 50 states.
Perhaps the reason that the life expectancy is shorter is because more residents are obese. In Buffalo, 27.4% of the residents are obese, compared with 25.3% in Ithaca, New York, which was deemed the healthiest city in the state.
