- More healthcare organizations are planning to outsource their revenue cycle management functions, including collections, according to a published report. Nearly 60% of the medical providers and 86% of hospitals plan to eliminate some revenue cycle management functions in 2017 and 90% of physician practices feel they are not “financially or technically prepared for the challenges associated with value-based reimbursement.”
MORE LIBRARY SYSTEMS GETTING RID OF OVERDUE FINES
- The Columbus (Ohio) Metropolitan Library is ending its practice of charging overdue fines, joining a growing number of public library systems to do away with the penalty. Items not returned within 25 days of their due date will be considered lost and customers will be charged a replacement fee, and that fee will be referred to a collection agency if not paid.
