CONSUMER SUING PRA FOR FREEZING $43K IN BANK ACCOUNT TO COVER $6K JUDGMENT

  • An Arkansas woman is suing Portfolio Recovery Associates, alleging the company froze her bank account with $43,000 in it to cover a $6,000 judgment she did not owe because she was a victim of identity theft. The money in the bank account was being used to collect on unpaid interest on the judgment, which was two months old, according to a published report.
