DEPT. OF EDUCATION CREATES STUDENT LOAN ENFORCEMENT UNIT
- The Department of Education has created a “Student Aid Enforcement Unit” to identify sooner and respond in a more timely fashion to crises involving student loans, much like the one at Corinthian College. Robert Kaye, an attorney with the Federal Trade Commission, will head the unit.
SUBPRIME AUTO DELINQUENCY RATES RISING
- The delinquency rates on subprime auto loans are rising faster than the delinquency rate on loans made to borrowers with good credit, according to data released by Experian. According to Experian, 0.77% of subprime auto loans were at least 60 days past due.
