EXECUTIVES SHARE TOOLS, TIPS TO HELP MONITOR EMPLOYEE PERFORMANCE

  • Keeping an eye on employees needs to be a top priority at any collection agency, and not just because of increased compliance risks, according to a pair of executives who spoke during a webinar hosted earlier this week. The webinar, on the topic of monitoring employee performance, was sponsored by Peak Revenue Learning. The speakers were Kelly Parsons-O’Brien from CBA Credit and Chrissy Rioux from Credit Solutions. Just one example of how both executives keep an eye on employees: they each said they spend time on the collection floor every day, walking around and listening to calls. Parsons-O’Brien went as far as to have a standing desk on the collection floor that she uses to do some of her work so she can be closer to the collectors making calls.

SHERMAN FINANCIAL CEO RUMORED TO BE INTERESTED IN BUYING NFL’S CAROLINA PANTHERS

SENATORS INTRODUCE BILL TO END IRS PRIVATE COLLECTION PROGRAM

  • The Internal Revenue Service’s private collection program, which it was forced to adopt by Congress, has received a lot of negative attention lately because it turns out the program is costing more than it is bringing in. A group of Democratic Senators, including Sen. Elizabeth Warren, have introduced a bill that would end the program.

FCC CHAIRMAN BEING INVESTIGATED FOR RULE CHANGE THAT BENEFITTED MEDIA COMPANY

  • Ajit Pai, the chairman of the Federal Communications Commission, is being investigated by the agency’s top watchdog after reports he improperly pushed for rule changes benefiting one of the nation’s largest media companies, according to a published report. The investigation centers around the $3.9 billion acquisition of Tribune Media by Sinclair Broadcasting. The acquisition was announced just three weeks after the FCC, led by Pai, approved rules that would allow broadcasters to greatly increase the number of stations they own.
