Transworld Systems Inc. has announced that its contract to collect unpaid tax debts on behalf of the state of Maine has been renewed.
The renewal extends the agreement through June 30, 2022, according to an announcement from the company. The new contract was awarded following a competitive Request For Proposal process, the company said.
According to TSI, the scope of work under the agreement includes: first-party collection of delinquent state individual income tax debt, obtaining delinquent tax returns from non-filers, providing problem resolution and taxpayer assistance, and performing lien and probate functions.
A comment from Joe Laughlin, the CEO of TSI, said that the company has been working with the state for more than two decades.
TSI, based in Lake Forest, Ill., says it has “injected” more than $6 billion in cash flow back into its clients’ businesses.
