- Sift Medical Data, a revenue cycle management company, has closed a seed round of funding. The company raised $665,000 from two sourced. Sift offers an artificial intelligence-drive revenue cycle management platform that helps increase patient collection rates and reduce insurance claim denial rates.
COLLECTION AGENCY INVOLVED IN NON-PAYMENT OF PRISONER MEDICAL BILLS
- A fight is brewing over who should pay the medical bills of inmates from the Texas County Jail. More than $200,000 in unpaid bills have been sent by Texas County Memorial Hospital to a collection agency after the local sheriff’s office decided to stop paying the bills. The sheriff argues that it should be the county’s responsibility to pay the bills.
PROFESSIONAL PLAINTIFF PROFILED
- A profile of Craig Cunningham, a professional plaintiff who keeps three cell phones and is just waiting for someone to call him without his consent so he can sue for violations of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act. Cunningham has filed more than 80 TCPA lawsuits since 2014.
CFPB RELEASES DATA ON PROBLEMS WITH LONGER-TERM AUTO LOANS
- Going from five to six may not mean much when that is your age, but when it’s the term of an auto loan, it means a great deal. The amount having to be repaid by consumers on a six-year loan compared with a five-year loan is significantly higher and the default rate on six-year loans is higher than on five-year loans, according to data released by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.
