REPUBLICAN GOVERNORS GO AFTER CORDRAY
- Republican governors are the latest group to try and discredit and oust Richard Cordray, the director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. The Republican Governors Association yesterday filed a Freedom of Information Act request inquiring whether Cordray used CFPB funds to coordinate with Democratic officials in Ohio, where Cordray has been rumored to be considering a run for governor. The FOIA submission requests phone logs and emails that reference a gubernatorial campaign.
DEBT COLLECTOR ATTACKED BY MAN WITH KNIFE
- A debt collector in the U.K. was attacked by a man with a knife when the collector went to the man’s house to find out why a payment had not been made. The attacker chased after the collector and swung the knife at him, narrowly missing his target. The attacker received a six month suspended jail sentence and 200 hours of community service for the attack.
NAVIENT RCM UNIT MAKES ACQUISITION
- Xtend Healthcare, a unit of Navient, has purchased Elipse, a health records management company. Xtend, which is a revenue cycle management company, plans on using the acquisition of Elipse to further its presence in the healthcare market.
