IRS TO MISS DEADLINE
- John Koskinen, the chairman of the Internal Revenue Service testified yesterday before the Senate Finance Committee and said that the agency will miss a March 1 deadline to sign contracts with debt collection agencies as part of a new law that requires the IRS to outsource collections of some unpaid tax bills. The IRS is also expected to cut up to 3,000 jobs this fiscal year.
AGs WANT ROBOCALLS BANNED
- A group of 25 state attorneys general sent a letter this week urging Congress to pass a bill that would prohibit companies collecting on certain types of government debt, like student loans, to use “modern dialing technologies” to collect on those unpaid debts.
BEAM ANNOUNCES BILLINGTREE INTEGRATION
- Beam Software has announced an integration with BillingTree’s Payrazr payment platform. The companies are hosting a webinar on March 24 to demonstrate Beam’s capabilities and the features of the BillingTree integration.
